On 2 May 2026, Professor Frédéric Leonardi, from the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA), visited the facilities of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) at the Tudela Campus. The visit focused on the recently installed Addilan WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) machine, which expands UPNA’s capabilities in large-scale metal additive manufacturing.

During the visit, the research team presented the machine’s main features and discussed its potential for manufacturing, repair and hybrid manufacturing applications. The equipment will support ongoing research activities related to advanced manufacturing, process monitoring and digitalisation, as well as several collaborative projects involving UPNA and its international partners.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen the collaboration between UPNA and UPPA in the fields of additive manufacturing and surface engineering, promoting future joint research activities and student exchanges within the Euroregional innovation ecosystem.
