On 27 February 2026, researchers from the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) participated in the III Eurorregional University Meeting (UNINAEN 2026), held in Pamplona. The event brought together universities, research centres and institutional representatives from Navarra, Euskadi and Nouvelle-Aquitaine to promote collaboration in research, innovation and higher education.
During the poster session, the UPNA team presented the work “Application of Surface Improvement and Coatings to CuNiAl WAAM Material”, developed in collaboration with the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA). The research focuses on the application of surface treatments and coatings to improve the performance and durability of components manufactured by Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM).
The participation provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate ongoing research activities, exchange knowledge with other institutions and explore future collaborations within the Euroregional innovation ecosystem. The work presented contributes to the objectives of the SURFAV project, focused on advanced hybrid manufacturing and surface engineering solutions.
