Fernando Veiga, Principal Investigator of the SURFAV project, participated in the Ecosistema UPNA–Ribera event held at the UPNA Tudela Campus on 14 May 2026. The initiative brought together representatives from academia, industry and public institutions to showcase research and innovation activities developed at the university and their impact on the region.
As part of the programme, participants visited the advanced manufacturing facilities of the Tudela Campus, including the additive manufacturing installation. During the visit, Fernando Veiga presented the objectives of the SURFAV project, focused on the development of hybrid manufacturing solutions through the combination of additive manufacturing, surface engineering and advanced characterisation techniques. The presentation also highlighted the first activities carried out within the project and the expected industrial applications in sectors such as tooling, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
The event provided an opportunity to disseminate the project’s progress, strengthen links with regional stakeholders and showcase the research capabilities available at the Tudela Campus. SURFAV continues to contribute to the development of innovative manufacturing technologies while fostering collaboration between universities, research centres and industry across the Euroregion.
